About Launchfile

Launchfile was built by a developer who spent too many weekends debugging Postgres connection strings.

Every open-source app has the same problem: the code is free, but the ops knowledge to run it reliably is not. You have to figure out the right Postgres config, connection pooling, environment variables, service dependencies, and backup strategy for each one. Multiply that by every app you want to run, and you've consumed days of your life on infrastructure work that has nothing to do with what you actually wanted to build or ship.

We built Launchfile to solve this once. 113+ apps are pre-configured with production-tested settings by someone who has already debugged the edge cases. You run one command. Everything connects.

At under $10 a month, you're paying for the hours you won't spend on ops. That math works out fast.

What we mean by expert ops

Every app in the catalog ships with:

  • Tuned database config for the app's actual access patterns
  • Pre-wired service dependencies so components connect without manual env juggling
  • Sensible defaults that work in production, not just in a tutorial
  • Automatic updates to configs as upstream apps change

You focus on using the software. We maintain the operational layer.

The catalog

Launchfile covers 113+ apps across databases (Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis), productivity tools, analytics, monitoring, media servers, and developer infrastructure. The catalog grows continuously.
